With knowledge, passion and vision to industry transformation

Urban Pevnik, CEO of Hiproject, and his team are proving that with a wise approach and green technology, we can transform the industry for a better future.

Industry is more than an economic engine – it is at the heart of social transformation, employment and technological progress. In Slovenia, 30.2% of people in employment are employed in industry, underlining its key impact on the quality of life and sustainable development of the country. The trend is similar in Europe, where the percentage is around 24.5%.

Industry – environmental and workforce challenges

While industry creates economic growth and jobs, it remains a major polluter of the environment. According to the European Environment Agency (EEA), the industrial sector contributes around 20% of greenhouse gas emissions in the EU. Urban Pevnik, CEO of Hiprojecto, stresses that industry should not be a burden on the environment or on people: ‘With the right knowledge and technology, we can create sustainable and efficient production, where employees are healthy, happy and motivated.’

In addition, the industry is facing a shortage of skilled labour, which is impeding the growth and competitiveness of companies. Hiproject’s automated solutions enable companies to reduce the physical and cognitive strain on their employees, which Pevnik says means:
” Our solutions help companies bridge the staffing gap by enabling employees to work smarter and safer, not harder.”

Research shows that satisfied employees are up to 21% more productive and take less sick leave, a key aspect of improving working conditions.

Sustainability, local production and digital transformation

European consumers are becoming more aware – 65% of them prefer locally produced and sustainable products. Hiproject therefore combines green values with innovation and responsibility towards the environment and people. In Pevnik’s words, “If we want to maintain Slovenia’s competitiveness on the global market, we need to combine innovation with responsibility towards the environment and people. Hiproject is proud to be leading this green transformation.”

In addition, the industry is undergoing a rapid digital transformation based on automation, artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things (IoT). By 2027, these technologies are expected to take over 44% of work tasks. Hiproject integrates advanced technologies to improve the transparency, flexibility and efficiency of industrial processes, which according to Pevnik is not just a technological trend, but an opportunity: ‘Digital transformation is a tool to improve the way people and processes work.’

The importance of industry for the future of society

Industry has an important impact on quality of life, not only through employment but also through its role in sustainable development and economic stability. In this context, Slovenia is experiencing record high employment figures and low unemployment, which puts pressure on companies to find the right people while maintaining growth.

“Our job is not just to create better technology, but to co-create a better world. This is the future we believe in and build every day” adds Urban Pevnik, who together with his team is proving that a sustainable industrial transformation that reduces the environmental footprint, improves working conditions and increases efficiency is the key to a better future.
